Some of the benefits and potential dangers of the Internet, particularly to children

There is no doubt that the Internet is one of the greatest humankind's inventions of the last century. It is fast and easy way to get a lot of valuable information. However, I think that the Internet creates many problems as well, and it's not always good idea to allow children to use the Internet. 

There is no doubt that the Internet offers many positive educational and social benefits to young people. It is also a very good entertainment for children. Unfortunately there are risks, too. One of the potential dangers of using the Internet is that children may be exposed to inappropriate material. This may be material that is hateful, violent in nature or even pornographic. Such kind of materials causes children to do activities that are dangerous or illegal, since children are green hand, and they don't have immunity to refuse some hazards. I don't think that it is normal for children to know about things that they are not allowed to. 

But there is a further more subtle point we must consider. Some children may become involved in the buying and selling of stolen goods, participation in religious websites or do something illegal. Since it is not so difficult to get an access to online gambling,  sites selling weapons or hacking sites. Moreover, suicide sites, and sites providing recipes for making drugs or bombs are also of great concern.

In brief, perhaps there are some advantages that the Internet might give to children, but its disadvantages outweigh the benefits. So I recommend people not to permit children to use the Internet at an early age. 

Entry 1: My first Impression and Expectations

         When I enrolled in IELTE I was highly pleased. I knew that the only way to improve my English faster is to study in IELTE department. I cannot say that my first impression about IELTE was exact what I expected from it before entering to it. However, after some time I liked it. Our first subject was “Study skills”. This subject teaches us how to study and learn better. We spent the first week with getting acquaintance with each other and playing games. Then we began studying hard. I liked the method of teaching and the subjects we study which is much more interesting and different form philology’s subjects. 

                I feel after some years my English will be excellent. The knowledge I am getting from IELTE will help me a lot in my future career

Entry 2: Debate on Mouse vs. Touch Screen

       Touch-screen is useful and convenient to use, but they also have a few disadvantages.

       When you use touch-screen you have to be close to the screen in order to touch it. If you prefer to use mouse you can be as far as possible. With a mouse you are able to click every icon on your desktop. However, you might have difficulty in clicking small icons on your touch-screen with your finger. Since finger may be much bigger than the icon and two icons might be clicked at once with finger.   Another disadvantage of touch screen is the display dirties up frequently because of touching it with filthy fingers. And typing on touch screen is more difficult than on a keyboard.

       On the other hand touch screen does not occupy a lot of room on your table. Because you do not need to have mouse or keyboard which takes up much place. Also, it is much faster to use your finger rather than mouse when you are clicking icons. And you can put cola or some food on your table not worrying about spilling cola on the keyboard. Touch screens have a quick access to any types of digital media. 

       In spite of some troubles, I prefer ot use touch screen because it  is easy, fast and convenient to use.
